1. What information we collect about you
When you download and access the App, you will be given the option to create an account by providing a social media account or phone number. We may record information about you which you voluntarily disclose through use of the App and when you correspond with us, such as when you report problems with the App.
If you create an account using credentials of a third party Social Networking Site (“SNS”) such as Facebook, Facebook will ask for your permission to share with us basic information from that account, like your name, email address, friend list, birthday, and your ‘likes’. You can stop sharing that information with us at any time by removing the App’s access to that account.
Only parents or guardians are authorised to create accounts, and therefore it is only information (as specified above) of parents and guardians that may be collected. In the event Ibdaa discovers that a minor has created an account on their own and using their own personal information to create such account, the account will be deleted.
Other data may be collected automatically when you use the App, such as your IP address and your device’s encrypted IMEI number or SIM card ID, or from our affiliates, anonymized data.
Ibdaa may also collect certain data in a form that does not directly relate to an identifiable individual, such as the location where the App is used and information from the device you use to access the App, such as your browser type, operating system version, device type and time period of use. Where we do so, you may stop Ibdaa from collecting location data at any time by going to “Settings” in the App and turning off location services, although this may affect the provision of services which make use of location data sent from your device.
Ibdaa uses ‘cookie’ technology (small computer files placed on your device’s hard drive). When you go to particular pages within the App, the cookie identifies your browser with a unique, random number. You are always free to decline the cookies, if your browser permits, although doing so may interfere with your use of the App. The cookies that Ibdaa uses do not reveal any personal information about you. Further detail about the cookies we use is set out in our Cookies Policy.
From time to time, we may ask you to update the information you have provided to us and to provide other categories of information. In some cases, it will not be possible for Ibdaa to make a particular service or promotion available to you if you do not provide certain information. You do not otherwise have a legal obligation to provide any personal information to Ibdaa.
Payment of any subscription fee is made through third party platforms and hence we do not collect or retain credit / debit card information. Third party service providers will provide us with information about your purchasers so that we know if a purchase has been successful. When you purchase via our App (such as those you can purchase in the App Store, or on Google Play) we do not collect or store any payment information on you.
2. How we use your information
- to enable us to provide the App services to you;
- where necessary for compliance with a legal obligation to which we are subject; or
Ibdaa uses the information we collect when you download and access the App to:
- enable you to participate in interactive features of the App;
- improve the App and the services we provide to our clients and to notify you about changes to them;
- administer the App and our services, including for troubleshooting and testing purposes; and
- detect and investigate fraud and abuse of our services.
Ibdaa uses the non-personal information it collects when you use the App to better understand our users and their behaviour and to improve the user experience of the App. We also use the non-personal information to improve the services we and our affiliates’ offer.
Unless we are required by law to retain your information, we use reasonable efforts to delete your personal information from our records once you uninstall the App from your device.
We may choose to show you third-party advertisements within our App by using your information to help a third party deliver advertisements that are tailored to you based on a determination of your characteristics or interests.
You can choose to prevent your device's ad identifier being used for interest based advertising, or you can reset your device's ad identifier, by changing the settings of your device. Settings vary from device to device but you will usually find the ad identifier settings under "privacy" or "ads" in your device's settings. You can disable cookies through your browser settings. However, if you choose to adjust your preferences in order to prevent these technologies, you may find that you cannot enjoy the full use of our App.
Please note that adjusting your preferences as described in this section does not mean you will no longer receive advertisements, it only means the advertisements you do see will be less relevant to your interests.
3. When we disclose your information
We may also disclose information we collect when you use the App to our affiliates including content providers and advertisers (who may be interested in learning about the characteristics of users accessing the App, such as their location) and third party analytics providers. Information disclosed in this way is anonymised and aggregated and cannot be used to identify you.
We may also disclose your information to third parties if:
- we sell or buy any business or sell assets, in which case we may disclose your information to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets; or
- Ibdaa or substantially all of its assets are acquired by a third party, in which case information about our users will be one of the transferred assets.
4. Where your information is located
We may store your information on servers operated by Ibdaa or hosting service providers in locations worldwide, with a possibility that the authorities in your jurisdiction may not recognise such locations as providing adequate level of protection for data. Depending on the location of your information, it may not be possible to effectively enforce the data privacy rights and remedies available to individuals in your jurisdiction (if any).
5. How we keep your information secure
Ibdaa is committed to using measures to help protect the security of your information. Ibdaa and the third party service providers that provide hosting services for the App use a variety of security technologies and administrative procedures to help protect your information from unauthorised access, use or disclosure with security measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the information.
The Internet is not a secure medium and despite our best efforts, Ibdaa cannot guarantee the privacy of your information insofar as unauthorised access is concerned. You must never share your account credentials or any details about your account on the App with any other person. If you are concerned that your account has been compromised, please contact our customer support team immediately.
6. Third Party Websites
The App may contain links to third party websites, such as SNS like Facebook, YouTube or Instagram (“Linked Websites”). The Linked Websites are not under Ibdaa’s control and Ibdaa is not responsible for any Linked Websites. Ibdaa provides these links as a convenience and the inclusion of any link does not imply Ibdaa’s endorsement or an association with the Linked Website and / or its operators. When you access a Linked Website, you do so at your own risk. It is your responsibility to review the privacy policies that apply to Linked Websites. Any claims you might have with respect to Linked Websites are against the operator of the website and not against Ibdaa.
